Supertech’s Apex and Ceyane towers in Noida were decreed to be razed by Supreme Court which found their construction within the Emerald Court society premises in violation of norms. Edifice Engineering, which is undertaking the demolition with its South African partner Jet Demolitions, has assured neighbors that there will be no damage to their buildings.

The two buildings were rigged with over 3,700 kg of explosives and they crumbled into pile of dust, as scheduled at 2:30. 


Well, it was a serious event as the nearby areas were evacuated, however, the enthusiasm among the public and media coverage of the Twin Towers demolition has got netizens talking on the micro-blogging platform.

In no time, several funny memes went viral and Twitterati poked some serious fun at the media coverage, which left the several in frenzy around this event. 

As part of 360 degree preventive measures to counter environmental impact of the Twin Tower destruction, anti-Smog guns have been installed in various locations around the site in Sector 93 A to help in countering the resulting dust post demolition.











Interestingly, 100 water tankers were reportedly deployed in various locations all around twin towers Demolition site to stand by in case of an emergency and later in post-demolition cleaning activities.

"We all are super excited and confident that nothing will go wrong. We are ready for the big day. We have spent weeks preparing for it," blast specialist Cethan Dutta, was quoted as saying by the Mint. 

According to the reports, Dutta pressed the button that commenced the explosion. Officials also performed puja in the morning to ensure safe demolition of the buildings.
